Need for Transformation Change
Nordex like many companies that start in the USA have big ambition of making it big.
The set their visions to big some with doing proper market research that will impulse them to be
competitive in a saturated market. Without the proper research that some of them is already
done for you by the government on operating or opening a business offshored and what it will
cost a business it either done from the star or it will be consume by another company that see a
potential in your business or a rival if the company gets off the ground (Garus, 2013).
Nordex saw an opportunity by the incentive that the government and the local state had to offer
and in my opinion without doing proper research it when all out and it said that when fully
operational it will hire 750 employees. Just like the Nordex the local government had to do its
own research and see if what Nordex was offering to the public was good. This was the
beginning for transformational change for Nordex without knowing.
The market for Nordex in its reality was overseas because the culture is more acceptable
of renew energy and alternative source of energy. In USA with are getting their but it is taking us
a litter more time. Since the company couldn’t survive without government grants it was doom
to fail unless it started to look for alternatives’. This was Nordex beginning for transformational
change and to grow. Nordex was never able to hire 750 people like it set out to do because of the
market sales for its products. The only thing for Nordex to do was to go overseas and see what
other countries had to offer and what the market for their products was (Garus, 2013).
In their search for a new home for Nordex they found Germany and the only thing
holding them back was the government subsidies they were getting. In 2013 the congress
decided to cut all fund to Nordex and this was their big opportunity to move ahead with their
plan and move to Germany. Before Nordex announce their move it turn around and blame the
Need for Transformation Change
congress for its failure that they had to lay off 40 employees of the 50 they had. In 5 years
Nordex only hire .06% of the 750 employees they said it was going to hire.
Management for Nordex did what it needed it to do to ensure Nordex survival if not in
USA in another country. They couldn’t continue to do the minimum when the only thing you do
is think how I can make this business bigger. When the oil prices in this country sky rocket few
years back, T. Boone Pickens come one the news and he was very strong on win energy and no
one listen. Countries overseas were listening and now they are reaping the fruits of an American
dreamer, the same way Nordex is.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Change is very essential for the survival of an organization in the market because the
market changes regularly and one who change with it can only survive. Nordex’s management
also has taken steps to change the setup of operations. There are many organizational change
models available and three of famous models are described here. The first model is presented by
John Kotter that is known as eight step model of change. The model includes the eight steps
starting with creation of urgency in organization for change and secondly understanding the type
of change needed for the organization because accurate change will be helpful for the
organization. The third step includes developing a vision, strategy, and way of change in the
organization. The fourth step is very important and includes the communication of change in the
organization. The fifth step is of removing obstacle in the way of change and the sixth step is to
make short term wins to test the change. The seventh step includes work on the change
implemented and builds and finally makes the change core part of your organization (Kotter,
2012). The pros of Kotter’s model is that it provides a strong initiator for change in the
organization and also provides the ‘Eight Step Model’ for the change and the cons of the model
is that it does not provide the sustainability of the change in the organization (Vaughn, 2012).
The second change model is of Lewin that includes only three steps. First step is
unfreezing the current state by the organization for change; the second step includes the
movement from current to the change position and adapting the change. The final step is
refreezing that includes implementation of change to the organization and emphasizing the
employees to stick to the change. The pros of the model is that i provides simple steps for change
and cons includes that it is less flexible in the current market situation (Longo, 2011). The third
model is Congruence model by David A. Nadler that includes four main components of
organization that are individual, tasks, informal and formal processes. The model advises change

on the inputs and outputs of the organization, to incorporate in organization. The pros includes
that it is very helpful in implementation of complex organizational change and cons includes that
it is very expensive model of change (Chirantan Basu, Demand Media). The successful
implementation includes testing that whether employees are engaging in the change or not. The
second test is whether management is successfully connecting with employees or not. The third
test is whether your organization supports change or not (Vaughn, 2012).
Stakeholder communication includes communication with the people who can be
influenced by the decisions of organization (Shareholders, employees, creditors, customers etc),
and this refers to be most important communication by an organization. The communication
includes new product information, any packages or offers introduced by the company for the
customers. This communication also includes future steps for the betterment of product to be
taken by company. The management of the company is always responsible for the
communication with the stakeholder. They can create an extra department for this process. The
medium of communication includes newspapers, e-mails, meetings, flyers, electronic boards,
television commercials, postal and other popular ways that are easily reachable to the general
public specially stakeholders (Savvypm, 2008).
