For this paper, you should compare the character of Okonkwo in Things Fall Apart to either
Creon in Antigone or Hamlet in Hamlet. To do this, you should consider how Okonkwo fits
into the model of the tragic hero, as defined by Aristotle. You might explore his tragic flaw
or his moment of realization, or describe the event that locks in his fate. Or you may choose
to explain how Things Fall Apart differs from the Western tragic tradition and presents a
different kind of tragic hero. You should create a focused thesis for your argument and
place it in the first paragraph and make sure that you support that thesis in subsequent
paragraphs.
