Introduction
The main purpose of this research is to explain more about my internship as a software
developer in Envision InfoSolutions, EIS. Also, this Action Research will provide me with some
insight on the expectations of the Envision InfoSolutions Inc. from me as a software developer
during the internship. Envision InfoSolutions Inc. is an IT company firm whose objective is to
transform and streamline business requirements step-by-step through offering technology that is
aligned, quality services and solutions which are goal oriented. The company is committed to its
clients and handles its customers as their operational model and core functions. The company
aims at improving the profit, productivity, and proficiency of its clients, as well as, offering
employees with exclusive and rewarding chances. The company delivers the best strategic
recruitment and offers professional, technical and traditional staffing services to major
companies in the country. The company has the latest technologies that help in finding out the
best solutions to challenges faced by clients (Zhou, Huang & Xu, 2014).
In 2013, Ell defined a software developer as a person who deals software research,
design, testing of a computer and programming. As a software developer in Envision Info
Solutions, Inc. (EIS) I will play the role of systems or software architects by designing computer
interactions and multi-leveled architecture of a large system of software (Ell, 2013).
According to Ell (2013), software developer develops and maintains websites and
computer software. Ambler (2013), asserts that software developers are the artistic minds behind
the computer applications and programs. Therefore, as a software developer, I will come up with
applications that permit people to carry out particular tasks on a computer or other electronic

devices. Besides, I will develop software that will operate on devices and internet as
applications.
Schaffer and Gould (2000), argues that software developers are required to have relevant
skills in the area of computer science, engineering, information technology, programming,
computer science related knowledge or any studies related to IT. As a software developer, I am a
professional who is self-motivated and has a great experience on main programming languages
like C#, C++, C, JAVA, Java script, Oracle, Python, XML, UNIX, UML, HTTP, Linux and
Smalltalk, as well as, other tools used in testing software (Schaffer & Gould, 2000).
In EIS I will apply my problem solving and debugging skills, excellent understanding and
knowledge in tools of developing software and technology, excellent interpersonal skills in
ensuring that the company achieves its objectives. In the internship, I will be tasked with
developing software using techniques that are tried and tested such as Crystal Methods
Methodology, Feature Driven Development Methodology, Agile Software Development, Scrum
Methodology among others. According to Zhou, Huang, & Xu (2014), as a software developer, I
will be responsible for detailed designing and planning, generation of documentation with the
intention of auditing a project, risk analysis, requirement analysis and adherence to coding
guidelines and standards (Schaffer & Gould, 2000).
This Action research will help in elaborating more about how as a software developer I
will help other people in the society through the power technology. This is because as software a
developer can influence other people’s way of living through their programs.
