In an effort to think about the ways the works of literature we’ve studied this
semester have and continue to affect our culture, you will need to put together ONE creative
project that illustrates what you see as the significance of a single text or that comments on a
theme within a single text. You have three choices for this assignment; read through your
options and think about what message you want to send regarding the work. Each option
will have its own dropbox.
Movie Review: Several of the texts this term have been the subject of film adaptations.

on writing a review. Your review should be at least one page long.
Soundtrack: Create a playlist/soundtrack for one of the works we’ve read. Your playlist
should consist of 10-12 songs. At a minimum, please give the song title and artist for each
song; if you like you can provide a link to a video of the song from YouTube or another
source. You should also include some commentary that outlines what theme or mood you
hope to create with these songs. You may discuss the songs individually or in groups, or the
list as a whole. Your list and accompanying commentary should be about a page long.
Remix: Adapt one of the texts or a portion of one of the texts this term for transmission via a
social media platform (ex. a Facebook page for Shahrazad, a Twitter account with example
Tweets from Montaigne, or an Instagram account from The Tempest). Alternatively, you
may create an illustration of a scene or moment from a text. The illustration can be a book
jacket cover, a book trailer, a hand-drawn image, or a manipulated photograph. Along with
your illustration, you will need to write a one-page document that explains why you chose to
illustrate the work in the way you did. The sample image and explanation posted to Creative
Projects: Additional Guides and Samples is 391 words long in Times New Roman 12 point
font and double-spaced.
Documentation Reminders: Like the formal essays for the course, Creative Projects need
to follow the stated guidelines and make use of MLA documentation procedures where
