Personal Statement
Part of the disciplines of Psychology is reflected as a scientific study involving the
identification and cultivation of ordinary virtues and human strengths. It also measures the
nature of effectively functioning human beings, learning of skills, and successful applications
for evolving the adaptations. Being interested in psychological processes and human behavior
has a huge range of possibilities for professional practice.
An effective implementation of a master’s degree for phycology could be for Family
and Marriage Counseling, and can effectively support empathy, altruism, community
building, compassion, forgiveness, creativity, enhance the functionality of the immune
system, develop a positive personality and worldview through one’s life span, and encourage
the psychologists to effectively know about the desires and what is required for well balanced
and healthy functioning relationships.
A specific sense of responsibility drives someone to maintain relationship with the
family members. It requires a person to learn tolerance, forgiveness, celebrations, sharing of
miseries in between the families. Requires people to develop strong self of self to avoid
emotional fusion within the relationship. It encourages people to be assertive and set healthy
boundaries with the ones connecting with. Helps people to highlight and develop strong
individualities while address the unhealthy functions in the relationship and guides them
through the possible paths of solving them.

My goal in my career is to become a consular and my decision is heavily influence by
Family Systems Theory, which is developed by an influential psychologist Murray Bowen.
His focus is to develop specific pattern in the families in order to defuse anxiety. Anxiety, that
exists in the context of an individuals in relation to someone or something. This is usually is
caused by the absence of healthy boundaries and distance. The main goal of Bowenian
Therapy being the facilitation of awareness of how the emotional system functions, by
concentration on increasing the levels of differentiation where the focus is on making changes
on the self rather than trying to change others.
Family and Marriage Psychologists get a lot of experience and face different cases. The
characteristics necessary for the proper development of the psychologist’s work are part of his
or her personal development process. Meaning that developing as a person is progressing your
career. There are more extroverted psychologists, others more introverted, the ones that are
focused on studying the lifestyle of a person and his or her activities, likes and dislikes, is
typically extroverted because they want contact with others. The professional traits of an
influential psychologist include those who work in laboratories with almost no contact with
other people; there are those who work in intense and deep contact with a client; there are
those who intervene in large groups; there are still those who dedicate themselves to
theoretical research and teaching. I want to be the part of this program, because I am assured
that this is the program that will help me achieve greatness and professionalism in the field of
Family and Marriage Counseling.
