Background of the Problem
E227 Global Solutions is faced with the problem of coming up with an effective strategy
to go green and reduce the carbon footprint of the company by 25%. The problem of pollution
and environmental degradation in the company emanates from different sources which include
land use changes, the exploitation of energy sources, and industrial processes. These emissions
and the lack of a strategic plan to reduce the carbon footprint have painted the company in a
negative light in the corporate world.
Statement of Purpose
This proposal provides a strategy that can and should be implemented in the reduction of
the company’s carbon footprint by 25%. The focus of this proposal is in the reduction of energy
use through the substitution of devices with energy efficient ones and coming up with policies
and procedures which will eventually lead to the significant reduction of the carbon footprint.
This proposal is directed to the upper management for consideration in policy-making and
making changes to effect the reduction in energy use.
Sources and Methods
The elaboration and investigation of means of reducing the energy use in E227 will be
carried out in a critical method whereby research content will be analyzed. Therefore, I will
make use of journal articles that elaborate the application of green strategies specifically for
energy reduction. An example of such a journal is the Journal of Environmental Protection
(JEP). Also, I will review the strategies that different companies that have significantly reduced
their carbon footprint have adopted. An example of such a company is Coca-Cola, which has

embarked on the reduction of its carbon footprint by 25% by 2020. The integration of this
material will allow me to compile a successful strategy.

This proposal is designed to address the issue of going green from a resources point of
view. Also, addressing all aspects leading to the eventual plan of action is crucial. As such, the
