Over the last few weeks, we have studied and analyzed several American texts that
reveal various facets of American Identity. Review the texts, select one from class and
then select a second text on your own in order to compare/contrast them in an essay.
Your essay should be 5-6 paragraphs with an introduction that identifies your chosen
texts and ends with a clear thesis that previews the intent of your comparison. Your
essay should include 3-4 body paragraphs that explore similarities and differences
between your chosen texts. Your essay should end with a conclusion that summarizes
your main points and gives final observations between the two texts.
