Slick asks for all of the money in the cash register. The clerk hands him the money and Slick and his partner turn to run out of the market. As they do, Slick’s ski hat falls off his head. The clerk pursues them with gun in hand and starts to shoot at them as they leave the store. Earlier that night, it had snowed and the ground was covered with fresh snow. Once the police arrive, they follow the steps in the snow a couple of blocks away to a house with a detached garage. Police notice the tracks in the snow lead to a window in the detached garage. The window is broken out and glass is on the ground. The house and garage are west in relationship to the market.Police gain entrance to the garage and find Slick and his partner huddled together under an old tarp in the corner. They both have blue surgical gloves in their pockets and handguns. Slick also has $89 dollars on him.Police have the hat that was recovered at the store tested for DNA. Slick’s DNA is found to be the major contributor of DNA inside the hat. Store video is also recovered by police. It shows two men coming into the store with guns drawn. They appear to be wearing gloves, but you cannot really see their faces very well in the video. Police also secure the clothing worn by Slick and his partner. Slick’s clothes consisted of a black hoodie, blue jeans, a red belt, and sneakers. His partner was wearing a tan Carhartt coat, black jeans, and work type boots. Slick is 6′ 2″. His partner is 5′ 8″.  When the store clerk is interviewed, he tells police they had some type of rubber gloves on that were colored. He also says the taller one had a black hoodie type jacket. He also says the shorter one was wearing black jeans and a tan winter coat. He says they both had guns.
