There is no such time in the long and eventful history of the Indian sub-continent that saw
change in economic and social life of the people than the life and events that came with Gandhi’s
life (Gandhi, 2009). This paper takes an insightful to Gandhi’s life who is my mentor since my
first encounter via online leads. I have had the passion for creating interest in this man’s life upto-date due to his witnessing the dynamism in the political, social and economic life of people
under his rule (Dalton, 2012).
Mohandas Gandhi Karamchand was born on October 2nd, 1869, at Porbandar. It was a small
town based on the Western coast of India. This area covered less than thirty thousand miles
jutting into the Arabian Sea to its West (Dalton, 2012).This is ranked as one of the most
backward regions in a political arena. In this feudal atmosphere of chronic insecurity, intrigue,
and arbitrary justice, heroic outlaws had their days (Gandhi, 2009).
Gandhi was born while the British rule was established in India. There were so many rebellious
regimes at the time culminating from several subsections to the Indian people (Dalton, 2012).The
British rule was reinforced till the Indian elites rose with eager to outdo the Colonies subjection
(Gandhi, 2009).Gandhi’s life is one of the miraculous events that has ever happened to India and
other States. No individual currently who can be exclusively be credited as sole architect for any
historical process thus Gandhi had elderly leadsmen that surrounded him in his tenure (Gandhi,
2009). Gandhi did not suffer and die for his people alone but a global patriot who championed
for revolution all over the world (Radhakrishman, 2015).
Gandhi was an essential moral force whose appeal to the conscience of man thus this calls for
universality and non-ending legacy (Gandhi, 2009). His martyrdom death was an achievement
that shamed his people out of hysteria and fratricide that aided the Union of India to consolidate
the secular and democratic trait of the newborn state (Radhakrishman, 2015).While unfolding in

his story, I have realized that no human achievement; however, high can remain static in the
changing world. What has been achieved by Gandhi may be wrecked or may go awry into more
that memory. However, Gandhi will live forever for he was of great achievements. In him was
the universal man in eternal quest for truth and perfection of morality. As he put it “I am more
concerned about preventing the brutalization of human nature than in prevention of suffering of
my people….”This insinuates the sense of humanity that Gandhi had in his levity (Gandhi,
2009).
An aspect I adore most from Gandhi was the spiritual sense that he had. More often he took
importunities in a spirit of kindness and amused enough humor out of it (Radhakrishman, 2015).
Gandhi’s approach was basically through an understanding of the people that grew deeper with
the years. What mattered was the inner spirit vested in his deeds.
Conclusively, Gandhi would not have accomplished anything in his quest for liberalized Indian
state in case his personal interest outgrew common interest of the Indian Nation. Gandhi’s life is
a circle that can be emulated by those people with the urge to prosper in both the political arena
and social life.
