Personal Statement
I am a hardworking and highly motivated individual, who recently graduated from
National American University on June 2015 after achieving good grades but whished I got a
better GPA. I have been working in the healthcare field for the past 13 years. I worked as a
nursing assistance, a train medication aid and as staffing personnel. Being a single parent, going
to school and working all at the same time has proven that am capable of doing whatever I set
my mind to do.
My confidence to lead and compassion to care for others have prepared me for this
course study. I have also represent my co-worker as a union steward. Additionally, I believe that
the knowledge I have accumulated from my work experiences and while studying at the
University has nurtured me towards studying this course. I spend most of my time interacting
with people or helping them out and when am free I spend my time with my two kids who are
my role models. Improving the lives of those that needs my help is my personal goals.
For the past 13 years I have worked with people from all sorts of life. I have organized
events meant to offer nursing aids to those who for one reason or another were not able to visits
healthcare. Moreover, among my friends, I have managed to bring together almost all single
parents to share ideas on how best to raise our children. I believe I will be able to bring to the

institution my leadership ability, creativity and ability to motivate others. Furthermore, I will be
able to mobilize student on weekends to go out to the neighboring community and do something
good for them such as cleaning and helping the sick.
If some one has told me that I would be pursing my master’s degree, I would have
laughed at that person. But just as am about to graduate, the man in my life just kept persuading
me to further my education and he did not stop until I finally made up my mind .
The three goals I will bring to graduate school are
