Introduction
In this fast growing business world there is always a need to find the problems which decrease
the productivity of the organization. The type of organization that we deal in is garment
manufacturing. Garment manufacturing includes manufacturing of cloths like shirts, trousers,
jeans, sweatshirts, T shirts, etc, which ranges from toddlers to aged people. The clothings are
offered for all kinds of seasons like summers, winters, etc. The garments business has all year
demand, as these are the basic needs of any person. The position I am handling in the
organization id Human Resource Executive.
Problems associated with business
Apart from success lot many problems do arise like shortage of raw material, power supplies,
injuries to workers, conflicts among workers, etc.
1. Role conflict means when the members of organization or people working within the
group are not sure about their roles. It means when there is confusion among workers
regarding what they are supposed to do. Role conflict can take several different forms.
When the tasks of a person are linked with two separate statuses, it is known as status
strain.
2. Communication is also one of the major problems among group members. It arises when
members are able to listen properly or when a co- worker interrupt speakers, the distance
between the speaker and listener is very long, the speaker and the listener are from
different cultural backgrounds, the worker feels reticent about talking to their managers,
written text is not in proper form like incorrect syntax, items out of context, bad
grammar, etc. (Andrea Campbell, 2014)

3. Lack of cohesiveness is another problem faced by most of the organizations.
Cohesiveness means the workers working in group has sense of belongingness towards
each other. Supervisors at workplace form groups as part of departments. Work teams
become connected as the members of team learn about strengths and weaknesses.
(Roslyn Frenz, n.d.)
4. Intergroup conflict is another reason which decreases the group productivity. Even
though various groups may work well together, but conflicts may arise when one group’s
goals are differ from another group’s goals. For example when one goal of one group is
to implement new software whereas another group’s need is to finish the project with the
help of existing software applications. (Jerry Anderson, n.d.)
Recommendations to resolve problems
1. Role conflict within groups: Managers or group leaders must clearly specify the roles of
each member or worker in the group. Each member should be told about the goals they
have to achieve. Group leaders should gather all the workers at one place and tell the
roles of each of them, so that they should not have confusion regarding their own roles
and others roles.
2. Communication problems: Before beginning with discussion, efforts should be laid on
listening. Live interactions should be scheduled instead of emails and memos. The
workers should be asked to summarize the points after the meeting is over. Work should
be assigned to workers from different cultural backgrounds, so that they should learn to
mix up with people of different traditions. (Andrea Campbell, 2014)
3. Lack of cohesiveness: cohesiveness arise when people are from different backgrounds.
Group leaders should aim at bringing people from various cultures to come and work
2
together. Generally people feel attached or preferred working with those from same
culture or tradition. But in this era of globalization, it is very important for people to learn
and work with people not only from different cultures and traditions.
4. Excessive intergroup conflicts: expectations from each of the group members are to be
discussed in the starting of the project. This will help those resolving issues in advance,
the working of project at later stages will not suffer.
Preliminary problem statement
1. To what extent the structure of organization is perceived effective in managerial decision
making?
2. Will the employees be able to solve the communication gap they are having within
themselves?
3. What will the effect on performances of employees with intergroup conflict?
4. Will the employees be able to coordinate properly for team work
Conclusion
It is true that organizations face many problems related to workers, whether it is a hospital or
manufacturing industry. We have already discussed few of the problems associated are
communication problem, role conflict, intergroup conflicts, etc. Apart from these there are
certain other problems which are faced by the organizations. For each and every problem,
solution also exists. Recommendations are there to each problem and suggestions to enhance the
productivity of group. The managers or group leaders must look into the matter thoroughly for
the efficient running of the organization.

This will open the Library page within the HUB.
Step 3: Click on the EBSCOhost link.
This will open a new window where you will login to the EBSCO electronic library.
Step 4: Login to EBSCOhost.
Please note, you should enter your DSI# beginning with a capital D. Your password is the year and
month of your birth in the form YYYYMM.
Example: if you were born in May 1971, your password is 197105.
Click the SUBMIT button to enter the EBSCO search page.
Step 5: Click on the EBSCOhost Basic Search link.
This will open a page that contains a list of databases that are part of EBSCOhost.
Step 6: Select the Business Source Premier database.
This will take you to the search page.
Step 7: Enter the article number (AN 9706253565) in the search bar.

Note: you may rename the file when saving it on your drive.
Step 10: How to Search for other Articles
1.
Follow the EBSCO Host Tutorial through Step 6.
2.
I recommend starting with the “Advanced Search” tab so that you can enter two or three search
terms related to your problem statement. Also, check the boxes that provide “full text” and “Scholarly
(Peer Reviewed) Journals.”
You can email or download the articles. I warn against storing them in the folder provided in the
database. Many students tried to save articles there and later found them missing.
TIP: If you click on the “Preferences” link in right corner of EBSSCO, you can select show “Detail” in your
search results. Your search results will then show the Abstract of the source that makes searching for
relevant sources easier. That way you don’t have to click through the source link to see the abstract.
Please refer to the Class Project Guidelines on the course website for details on how many references
are required in your paper. Check out EBSCO host’s tool for help on your Works Cited page or see
BibMe.com.
Also, check out the Works Cited page of the sample papers in Doc Sharing to see an example of what
this section should look like. The “works” on the Works Cited page and the corresponding cites
throughout the paper should be done in either MLA or APA format.
