You might want to follow that lead and write what you would do in each situation. Make sure you tell each step for each scenario. The first step before any scenario involves what? Check to see if the scene is safe. That’s how you should start it, and then progress to each step explaining what you would do. This paper will require you to watch a video or read about how CPR/AED should be done? it’s OK to write exactly how the CPR/AED video or book tells you.please make sure about grammar and spilling. cpr_example.docx

CPR /AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers
Scenario: Conscious choking adult.
One hot summer evening, i decided to take my family out for dinner. As we entered the
restaurant, I saw an aged man who was standing holding tight on his neck. He looked as if he
was trying to ask for help but nobody could hear him out. Being a trained rescuer, I could see
that the man was choking from something he had eaten. I immediately ran to him and asked him
if he was okay, and all he nodded his head meaning that he was not .I introduced myself ,letting
him know that I was trained was a trained rescuer and if i could him. He nodded his head in
agreement and I immediately that someone had to call 9-1-1. I went behind him and placed one
of my arms across his chest, then asked him to lean forward. Using the heel of my hand, I struck
him five times between his shoulder blades; the item was still lodged in his throat. I quickly re
positioned him and placed my leg between his feet, and located his navel with one hand while
the other made a fist. I made sure that I positioned my thumb right above his navel and gave him
five thrusts on his abdomen. After giving him the fifth thrust, he started coughing and he spit out
the item that was in his throat. He was very happy for me saving his life.
Scenario: Conscious choking child
After having dinner with the family, we decided to go to the park and spend the rest of
the evening. As soon as we arrived at the children’s playground, I saw a boy who had apples
besides him gasping for breath. I asked him if he was okay since his hands were holding tight
around his neck all he could do was just node no in disagreement meaning he was not. I then
introduced myself as a trained medical responder and if it was okay to help. The boy nodded in
agreement and I told my mother to call 9-1-1.Since the child was short; I knelt down asked him
to lean forward with one of my arms placed across his chest. I then struck him five times
between his shoulder blades, with the heel of my palm and the item was still stuck in the child’s
throat. I pulled him up straight and located his navel, after which I made a fist with the other
hand and gave him five upward thrusts. The boy started coughing immediately and the big piece
of apple came rolling out of his mouth. At that time, the medical responders had arrived and I
told them what had transpired. They thanked me for acting fast even before they arrived.
Scenario: Conscious Choking infant.
After having such a wonderful time with the family, it was time to go back home and
get ready for the next day. I heard my sister screaming from the furthest room of the house. I
started running towards that direction because that was something unusual for her. After getting
there, she was just holding her six month old infant, saying that the baby had choked from food.
Since she was saying it loud i knew that the baby was not okay. I then introduced myself as a
trained medical responder and asked her if she needed help and she nodded in agreement. By
then, all the family members were upstairs checking out what might have been happening, I
yelled to them that they had to call 9-1-1. I quickly grabbed the infant, placing him along my
forearm facing down while i supported his head and neck with my palm. I then turned and started
giving the infant five blows between his shoulder blades. I then turned the baby and placed him
on his back on a hard flat surface. I put my two fingers on the baby’s chest alongside his nipples,
and started giving him chest compressions about 1.5 inches deep. After the five compressions
nothing came out and i quickly turned the infant back to my arm and positioned him just like
before. After giving him the last blow, I turned him and checked its mouth. I could see the item
that was blocking the airway, and so i decided to do the finger sweep. Just then, the baby started
crying and everyone in the room was applauding me for what I had done.
Scenario – CPR
One day when we were just walking in the park with my friends, they started talking of
what they would do if they found one their friends lying down unconscious. As they continued
with the discussion, we saw a group of people crowded together towards one corner of the park.
We quickly ran to that side only to find a young lady who was running lying on the ground with
all the people just gazing at her. I immediately knew that if someone did not step up and do
something that this lady would lose her life. I told everyone there to move back to ensure that the
scene was safe after which I tapped her lightly on the shoulder asking if she was okay. Since she
was not responding, I yelled out for someone to call 9-1-1. I then checked her pulse while
listening to her breathing for 10 seconds .Since there was no breathing and no pulse, I positioned
myself on the lady’s side with both of my hands on her chest and I started doing 30 compressions
about 2 inches deep. After the first cycle, I gave her 2 ventilations through her mouth and
continued with the 30 compressions. I repeated this until the medical responders arrived and by
that time she had started moving again. The medical responders came in and took her to the
ambulance and left. My friends were very shocked to see what I had done, since they had been
arguing of what they could do if a situation happened. They all decided that they wanted to get
trained as professional rescuers in case something happened.
For an infant, lift the baby’s head back and chin up to open the child’s airway. Then check for
breathing during this time, but for no longer than 10 seconds, and give two breaths, each lasting
about one second. Exhale gently until the chest rises. Take two or three fingers held together and
place them in the middle of the baby’s chest right below the nipples and give 30 compressions
about 1.5 inches deep until signs of life start showing.
Scenario Two Rescuer CPR
After having fun with my friends at the park, I decided to go to the beach and cool off since
it was too hot outside. After being there for about 20 minutes, I saw a teenage girl being drawn
out of the water after she had drowned. I ran towards him and told him to lay him on the ground
and immediately call 9-1-1. Since she was not breathing and did not have a pulse for the 10
seconds that I checked her, I gave her 2 ventilations and started doing 30 compressions on her
chest. This continued for four minutes and I saw a guy come and introduced himself as a trained
rescuer. He quickly gave him 2 ventilations and we switched positions. We repeated this cycle
until the young girl started breathing and coughing out l the water. The medical responders then
arrived at the scene and took over.
For an infant, the two persons rescue would be done by giving one giving 2 ventilations and
the other15 chest compressions switching after 2 minutes until the medical responders arrive or
signs of life start to exist.
Scenario AED
On my way home after I had just received my training as a trained rescuer, I saw a man
lying down and he seemed unconscious. I ran straight to him checking whether the scene was
safe and asked if he was okay and he did not respond since he was unconscious. At that time two
people were walking by, and i asked one of them to call 9-1-1 and the other one to get the
rescuers kit that was in my car. I checked the man’s pulse and breathing and he did not have
any. I grabbed the pair of scissors, and tore his shirt open and used a towel to dry the sweat that
was coming from his body. By this time there was a crowd of people who were just starring, and
a young guy came forward and introduced himself as a trained rescuer too. I told him to start the
2 ventilations and 30 compressions, as I got the AED ready. I grabbed the AED pads and placed
one on the upper side of the chest whiles the other on the left side. I then plugged in the
connector and yelled out to the crowd to stand clear. As everyone moved back, i told the young
man to stop giving the CPR as the AEC was analyzing the hearts rhythm. I told the people to
stand clear and not touch the victim since I was about to push the shock button. The shock was
administered and the young guy gave 2 ventilations and 30 compressions until it was time to
administer another shock. We continued with the cycle until the medical responders came in and
took the person to the hospital.
For an Infant or anyone under 55lbs of weight, should use the pediatric pads are available. In
case they are not available, the adult ones can be used by placing one in the chest while the other
one goes at the back, between the shoulder blades.
