I had many problem with my community in the regarding of such a matter because being raised by a
women is something very rear, people started to viewing me in a weak eye or get advantage in hurting
me thinking there will be no one behind me to defend my rights,
for example when i was young in the faith (5) grade one of the teachers (the Arabic subject tether he
was Egyptian a forging not Saudi) in my school (that was privet) started hitting me with a glue gun stick
the one you put in the glue gun to melt it, he hit me with it because he could not attach any problem
towards the other rich and both parent kids. Whatever he saw me talking in class or someone speaking
to me, he would blame and point it out to me even though some time i wasn’t the person who did it or
had the problem toward it.
one of the day he hit me so bad with his hands on my back that i felt dizzy ( I lost control of my
contrition it laterally felt like an ice break toward the titanic but it was my head that was hit with) and
when i went home i told mom what happen, she took a stand and defending my case to the point that
she told the ministry of education and from that the ministry brought down an pro educational expert to
look in that matter, nobody expected such a thing nobody even know that a kid like me could do such a
thing, when the educational expert came to the school the Egyptian teacher started apologizing and the
“i did not mean to” altitude came out my mom was always the kind of person who had that saying :
Behead a man rather than cut off his livelihood: which rhyme perfectly in Arabic and latterly mean that
instead of cutting him from work and cut off his salary it would be good to find another suitable
punishment because cutting off a salary might reflect a bad negative feedback to not only him but also
to the others that feed on that money meaning his family. She did not forgive his action but she did not
want harm to his family.
after that i remember going to school the next day and surprisingly finding out that he pointed out the
students mind against me from the point that i complained about him and that all the students get hit,
everybody started giving me the hate look because of what i did, eventually i did complain again about
what his act and my mom told the school as a second warning, to the point that he stopped teaching
me anymore and moving me to another class, the school board started to put in consideration my mom
as a parent who is equal to other parents. Even though when the school board dealt with the education
expert that came from the ministry they tried to bring on to the table the excuse that my mom is over
protective and crazy women, and indeed that argue did not work.
another story would be with my family since my father left us when i was 3, my uncles tried to interfere
in many ways in my mom way of rising us- they gave judgment, advices or take on without the
permission to act or take decision without any right or permission from my mom, since she did not have
the power sometimes to refuse. However she took on herself the power to act and stop against her
family, which we cut as a hole for six years just because we were shameful some times and not equal to
the other level and where the bottom of the family .
i remember a situation with my uncle when i was young playing with my cousin and running around in
one of the accusations we were young around 7. i came pass him playing police and the thief with my
cousin and he stopped us and starting to pull me ear and when my mom sow the act that he did with me
ignoring the other kid and blaming one she grabbed her Abaya (the black covering cloth that middle
esterns ware) and got out of the house holding me and my sister in her hand saying that if you don’t
respect my kids you don’t respect me so, he ran away behind us to apologize for his act.
And some time while my growing nobody would ever invite me to different men gathering or family
events. Which gave the felling of ignoring and “not wanting to” feeling. After that when i grow up and
now that i am adult everyone is in the point of trying to reconnect and restarting the relationships the
way it was or better before, but things for me are not as my mom. my mom did forgave them because of
her big heart, we were in the bottom of the family curriculum just because things did turn out of luck to
my mom with my did who i don’t know and in many point you will need family so her life was us and she
was ours. I never forgave them.
i did not forgive them for what they did to her or me however, i play it cool in peace and deal with them
as a strangers or someone from the street who I just met for my mother because she taught me to not
fire fire with fire and so on i am a man that don’t know his biological father and meet him a times that
can count on the hands but i do have a person who both father, mother and the world and that the rose
that rose like a rose in my heart and life my dear mother
we have that saying in Arabic that indicate huge felling of what the mother are:
The heavens are under the feet of mothers and that true
i am a man now who shield his mother for life and that’s the thing i well be 🙂
