Project Document
The eBookSharing system is an internet based application that
allows a student (owner) to provide a list of books they are willing to
share. The list is browsed by other students (borrower) looking for
specific books. A borrower begins by logging in (email address and a
password). The book list will include: title, author, ISBN, edition,
condition, and the course in which the book was used. If a student is
interested in borrowing, they can submit an offer to the owner. The
book owner browsers through the offers and may then accept an
offer and arrange a place and time for an exchange.

IMGT 2400 Group 5 dba EZShare, LLC develops and implements a vibrant, secure, user-friendly,
web-based, multi-device book exchange and study group coordination program for Laramie
Community College students in place not later than December 15, 2017 in order to reduce
textbook costs and enhance shared learning opportunities among LCCC students.
Analyze
EZShare App Features and Functions:
Design
Web based application that enables members to coordinate the loan or purchase of hard copy
textbooks and the posting and coordination of study groups.
Members will be able to:
Develop
Login – Establish a secure connection to EZShare using email address and password
Buy/Borrow – Access a master list to select titles to buy or borrow.
Test
Offer – Access a master list and key in pre-formatted information to add books to loan or sell
Accept – Browse and accept or decline offers of sale or loan
Implement
Maintain Listings – List, sort by title, author, ISBN, edition, condition, and corresponding course
Pay – Pay membership dues prior to access
Maintain
Study – Enhancements to the coordination capabilities allow members to post, sign-up for, and confirm access
to study groups for referenced courses.
Plan
Feasibility
Analyze
Viability – Initial feasibility study conducted by Hadaway and Fox Associates (HFA) reveals a
critical, immediate need for these services among LCCC Students.
Design
Economic – Initial costs are minimal. Nominal membership fee for access spread across a
reasonable percentage of the current LCCC student body of 4399 is expected to exceed the
maintenance and startup cost.
Develop
Test
Legal – Within the limitations outlined below, providing coordination of book sales or loans
between students facilitates single owner loan or exchange and will not infringe on copyrights
and complies with intellectual property laws.
Operational – EZShare fits company mission of providing low-cost, hi-tech solutions for students
Schedule – Hadaway and Fox confirmed project can be in place for Spring 2018 semester.
Implement
Maintain
Technical – EZShare functionality will be tested in house. Additional services from Hadaway and
Fox will be required for the coding and fielding of the application
Scope
Plan
EZShare will be available to LCCC students, faculty and staff by December 15, 2017.
Analyze
Design
Develop
Key Features:
Security – Reasonable measures will be in place to protect unauthorized use.
Privacy – Members cannot access membership records of other members, and stored
information on members will be maintained at the lowest level possible
Simplicity – Interface must be straightforward and easy to use
Design – Website must be modern and appealing being overbearing or gaudy
Versatility – Application must work well on mobile devices
Limitations:
Test
Implement
Maintain
Membership – Limited to LCCC members to minimize cost and validate assumptions, analyze real
time functionality and capacity, and facilitate necessary patching.
No E-Books – Loan and sale restricted to hardcopy books to limit liability. Loan of E-Books is
prohibitive due to legal constraints on e-sharing (e.g., Kindle sharing limited to 14 day)
Ownership – Members retain ownership to eliminate storage and shipping costs.
Exchanges – App will only enable members to identify a potential exchange or group. All
coordination for delivery and payment or meeting place must be initiated and coordinated by
members outside the application.

During Implementation of EZ Share we will utilize the Parallel Implementation Method. This will
allow users to be able to access the legacy system while learning the “ins and the outs” of the
new system. EZ Share will utilize the legacy system during the learning process for a total of 2
months along side the new system. After the 2 months, the legacy system will be shut down, and
the new system will go completely live.
EZ Share will utilize an online manual for user documentation. This online manual will provide
basic instructions for users. The online manual will also provide FAQ’s to help users
troubleshoot issues on their own. The website will also provide a number to call for any
detailed questions from users.
During the EZ Share Implementation, there will be several training sessions provided for users to
learn the new system. These training sessions will be over the internet and will mainly focus on
the main “ins and outs” of the new system. During these sessions, we will show to choose a
title, search a title, and how to return the book. These sessions will also include time for users
to ask questions they may have.
