Introduction
The bowline knot also referred to as the King of the Knots, is one of the most used knots
since ever history. It has been used in many situations like holding a heavy load as well as
emergency lifesaving. It offers the best quality not as it is easy to make, not lasting even five
seconds (Powell, 2014). It is easy to tie and untie at the same time. It is also known to hold a
significant grip without slipping off. For this session, I will look into how this knot, specifically
the one-handed bowline knot, can be used in an emergency lifesaving. One can be stuck in a
dangerous position like drowning under the water or stuck up a tree. One-handed bowline knot
will, therefore, be useful in this situation since it only takes one hand to make the loop. For
instance, one is stuck on a tree. The other hand can, therefore, be used to hold onto the tree to
avoid tripping off. A rope is thrown to him/her. He/she will use one hand to hold onto the tree.
This will leave him with only one hand to make the knot. I will give illustration on how to
quickly make this knot and help save a life when one is stuck on a tree.

Once the rope has been thrown and you get hold of it, one should wrap it up around the
waist. This ought to be done in a way that the standing part is the opposite of the working

well. The knot can also be used to save lives in a different situation like under the water when
one is drowning. The diver just needs to tie the knot around the victims wait and then pulled off
