1. Choose a company / enterprise that you would like to work for.
Pretend that you have applied for a position in the Marketing department of that company /
enterprise.
Well done! You prepared a very good application and you have been given an interview.
Now you need to prepare for the interview.
2. Start preparing for the interview by knowing as much as you can about the
company/enterprise. This includes its target audiences, role in the industry, products,
services, and recent news coverage. Make a short list of important facts about the company:
revenues, new product releases, competitors, annual data reports. Understand the structure of
the company’s management. Mock up an organizational chart so you can begin to understand
the management structure within the company. With the advent of the internet, there is no
excuse for not knowing the company you are interviewing with thoroughly. Having this
background knowledge shows the hiring manager that you are interested in the position and
value his or her time.
Congratulations! You got the job. Now it is time to do some work.
3. The Marketing department has been allocated a budget to replace some of the Software.
You have been asked to do some research on available SaaS (Software as a Service) and
prepare a Report about three B2B companies that are offering the software. You have been
asked to review those companies and their product in relation to the (a) website (b)
relationship marketing (c) value co-creation (d) usefulness of product – now and in the future
(e) disaster recovery (f) and security. If you can not find all the required information then you
should make a list of questions to ask the company / enterprise.
4. List the questions that you will ask the company/enterprise and state why this information
is required.
5. Write up your Formal Report.
