You will research, contact necessary agency, and analyze how you can get your product/service
to be exported, imported, licensed, merged, etc. in order to expand overseas. (Refer to different
strategies that we have learned) Basically, you will actually try to proceed with the international

1.0 Introduction
Electronics goods are always in an increasing demand due to their importance, increased
affordability, and the need to adopt the latest technology by consumers. This paper focuses on
the Millennia Technologies Inc. (fictional company), that deals with a broad line of consumer
electronic goods in the United States. The company has been in operation for the last 10 years
and its name is attributed to the technological demands and trends witnessed since the beginning
of the new millennium. It started with the manufacture and sale of audio systems and has
improved to include more products ranging from music and video systems, refrigeration
equipment, and other kitchen appliances. It mission is to see every customer satisfied. It operates
with the goal of becoming the global leader in the industry. Its values are based on producing
quality products, maintaining a strong organizational culture, and being consistent on
uniqueness.
2.0 Product Description
The company produces a range of products. They include music equipment like audio
systems, string music instruments, pianos, and drums. Its video products include Television sets,
CD/DVD players, and projectors for commercial and learning purposes, 3D display headsets.
The kitchen and home appliances include cookers, refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves among
others (McDermott, 2007). Each of the products is customized to suit different classes of
customers and niches.
3.0 Reasons for international expansion
The company wants to go global. According to the management, consumer electronic goods
are not unique to a particular country or region and thus expanding globally would provide the

company with the chance to reach out to a wider group of customer (Chief Executive Group,
2012). The needs of customers would differ as it expands internationally, which would enhance
its basis for creativity. Again, expanding internationally would increase the company sales and
profitability. Another remarkable reason for this move is to benefit from better business
regulations and cheaper labor in other regions than in the United States.
4.0 Strategy to be used
A franchising strategy would be used to expand internationally. The main reason for this
strategy is to enhance the independence of all branches in foreign countries. It would be easier
for each outlet to adapt to the local regulations, culture, and economy without much interference
of the home office. The main disadvantage would be the possibility of closure incase the local
management fail to adapt to the foreign business climate accordingly. Franchising is also more
expensive than other strategies like starting a chain or strategic alliance (Community Futures
Stuart Nechako, 2014).
5.0 Process of Expanding Overseas
The expansion process would be strategic and systematic. The expansion will first target
economies similar to that of the US, which means the expansion with first target developed
countries in Europe, then Asia, and later Africa.
5.1 Management
I will be responsible overall but the Manager of International Business and Strategy would
oversee the expansion. Each franchise would have a manager, preferably from the local region in
which the outlet is situated.

5.2 Shipment of Products
Products would be shipped by sea to new outlets from established firms until production is fully
ensured in each franchise.
5.3 Regulations
Shipment of finished products would have to comply with the local duty and tax regulations. All
processes will comply with local laws and policies including accounting processes, tax returns,
and labor laws.
5.4 Pricing
Setting prices would depend on various factors. Such factors include production costs,
price of other competitors, and customization of products to specific customers.
5.5 Marketing and Technology Tool
To market the products, intensive marketing will be done. Marketing would include various
medial platforms including social media networks, promotions, endorsements, Google Ads, and
TV/Radio channels (Ongori & Migiro, 2010).
6.0 Conclusion
Millennia Technologies Inc. is an already established company and expanding internationally
is the best decision to make so far. Although there are various challenges including cultural,
legal, economic, and social issues that are likely to face the company, the most suitable strategy
could minimize the severity of the projected challenges.
