Congratulations! Your hard work and commitment at Poor Richard’s Worldwide, a
leading multinational advertising and public relations firm, has paid off. Poor Richard’s
has just landed a prestigious new MNC account, a global leader in the energy field, with
facilities in Dubai U.A.E., Cyprus, Thailand, South Africa and Hong Kong. You will be
assigned to open one of those five new offices and have been asked to submit your
choice of location, along with your plan to staff the new office. Specifically, you are to
submit a memo addressing each of the following areas:

Your plan to use home-country nationals, third-country nationals, host-country
nationals and/or long-distance international workers. Justify your specific
recommendations based on the location background information provided (see
below) and additional meaningful details from your own country research.

Given the need for Poor Richard’s to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural
differences in all markets, what specific training and/or developments activities
do you recommend for your staff given your specific choice of location and the
type of employees you plan to utilize?
