I think the majority of children come to a time in life where they have to decide if they are going to follow in their parent’s footsteps or make their own path. My favorite part was when the writer accepted the pathway he chose and realized that it didn’t make him any less important than those before him. He understood his work was different from his father and grandfather but it was still necessary. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was another really interesting novella. There is something intriguing about the different sides of each person. This novella really makes you think because it is an extreme case of each person in my opinion. I have come to realize that with working in a professional setting everyone has two sides one which is real and one that is professional. Understanding that no one is completely themselves at all times is really intriguing that made this novella so interesting to me. “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” was another poem, that I really enjoyed reading. Nature has such a calming effect on me. Going for a walk when I am stressed or worried always does the trick for me which is why a special place is so essential in my opinion. I think it important to have a place to relax and just breathe. “The Dead” was my least favorite story. Personally I did not like the slowness of the story or the content of it. It seemed there were too many symbolization added which were not easy to pick out. This story was sad but not one that connected with me like other ones read this semester.The advice I would give future students is to be prepared and organized. Not being able to work ahead was a very different experience to the normal online classes that I have previously taken. This class forced me to stay organized and on top of each new assignment.
