Paper Outline.
As we have learned in this class, packet switching is very important because it makes possible
that users can share the same data path between them by breaking communication in to packets.
The network that routes packets (messages) to a receiver’s address is called packet switching.
The use of packet switching from a traffic over the internet is a communication called
connectionless. (Comer, D. E. 2015). Packet switching uses short messages. When the message
exceeds the maximum length, which is defined by the network will be broken up into units.
These units are known as packets used by the traffic for transmission. When the short units
(packets) are sent from a sender to a receiver, the network will get the packet to the receiver as
fast as possible. One thing which is not guaranteed is that how fast that packet will arrive to the
receiver.
