He suffer from the mental disorder of PTSD because of things he experienced growing up and during his time in serve.The type of therapy that is available for him that I will use will be the Phenomenological therapies.This type of therapy will help to address his issues with PTSD and the abuse he experienced from his father.Phenomenological therapy has a range of available services.CBT will help the client with a more positive approach of the issues with respect to his beliefs.DBT will help him with the crisis that he deal with his PTSD. There is also medications that can help the young men. He will be informed on the side effects of the medications. This will help the young men to cope with the behaviors of his issues.He will be combined with other individuals that maybe dealing with the issues of PTSD so that he will know that he is not alone.I would tell the young men the benefits of the CBT and the DBT.These services will help him to control his issues dealing with PTSD and the depression of the abuse of his father.These services will help him to gain his self- control.The client will learn how to control his nightmares or any distress that he is experiencing.The services will also help with the flashbacks for the effects of the war and any other upsetting things that happened is his life.I will encourage him to learn of the long and short term effects from the medication that are provided for his conditions.I will learn of the issues that the client maybe experiencing and use the services that are mos beneficial for the client.He will know that the services that is provided is to help him cope with his issues.There will be a bond of trust built with the client and he will be able to accept of refuse the medications once he learn the affects.One of the fall backs of this therapy is the client refusing the medication that can help him better cope with the PTSD.Another draw-back could be that the client may experience negative side effects from the medication.I will guard myself in a positive manner as a professional when coming hi contact with the negative vibes for the patient by redirecting the client in a more positive manner. I do not feel that there is any counter transference with the client.
