Red Team has been able to do and how they did it. As part of my task
here at Sifer-Greyson. Through my evaluated of the Red Team exploits I
have discovered that they gained access to the company premise’s both by
the mean of physical intrusion and by the mean of social engineering.Physical Intrusion: By watching the surveillance tapes, I was
able to identify a computer parts deliverer which the name is not listed
in the accredited parts deliverer list. Further down the road I was
able to confirm the breach by discovering a few planted USB drives
plugged to computers, and none of the company employees were able to
confirm or recall the usage of such devices. By doing that, the Red Team
was able to open up HTTP, HTTPS and DNS ports for remotes access.Social Engineering: I have noticed that some employees were
tricked in giving out their password over the phone to a so called
remote maintenance personnel calling to do a routine maintenance check.
Also, some of them have been victims of phishing and vishing. Therefore,
a logical explanation of how the Red Team was able to create bogus user
accounts.As a conclusion, the Red Team has been somewhat successful in
penetrating Sifer-Greysom system. However, with the cooperation of
employees who have been very honest to accept the fact that they have
mistakenly disclosed their password to improperly identified third party
agents, I think we should be able to contain the breach.
