You will make the following decisions about your hotel based on your research of a specific
property, and present these in a paper. Format instructions for your paper are at the end of
this project document.
1.Location: Where is your hotel located? A specific city and state, and an address Why did
you choose this specific property?
2.Classification: What type of hotel is it? (i.e. Is it an economy hotel, a limited service hotel, a
suburban full service hotel, etc.?) You need to describe your hotel, based on the criteria
discussed in class. (size, price services facilities, business cycle and target markets.
3.Brand: Fully describe the brand you were assigned.
4.Ownership/ Management: Fully describe who manages this property.
5. Average Daily Rate: You will research the average room rates for similar hotels in the area
you select (using Kayak, Expedia, and others). You need to review at least four seasonal dates.
How does this compare with your rate in your hotel? Also identify and discuss a minimum of 5
special or discounted rates for different markets of guests.
6.Average Wage Rate: You will need to determine what the minimum wage is for 5 positions
within in your hotel for your market(area) (mimimumwage.com). You will use this information
later as you build schedules and other financial data.
FORMAT Requirements Your paper must meet the following requirements. These are designed
to allow you to submit a professional quality paper.
1. Each paper must have a title page
2. Margins must be 1.5 inches on the top and bottom and 1 inch on each side. Also 12font
Times New Roman
3. Each page must be numbered at the bottom of the page, centered, in the footer section
