Organizing Your Ideas: Selecting Appropriate Content (Part II). When developing your
composition, you need to decide which content to include and which content to disregard. Your decisions will depend on your thesis statement, your goals as a writer, and the goals of the
reader. Make sure that all the information you choose illustrates the point you want to make,
that this information is what the audience expects to find in your work, and that the information
you offer helps the reader attain a goal.
You are going to start the process of writing a brief composition. The topic of this composition
is Nuestros recursos naturales. The purpose of your composition will be to tell the reader about
the natural resources in your area and how they are being wasted or used responsibly. Include
ideas about what will or will not happen to those resources, based on community habits, actions,
or programs that affect them.

escribe la tesis de tu ensayo y haz un bosquejo (outline) de sus párrafos. Apunta al menos cuatro
(4) oraciones que requieran el subjuntivo después de las conjunciones de dependencia
(contingency) y propósito (purpose) que aprendiste en el Tema I: antes de que, sin que, para que,
a menos que, con tal (de) que, en caso de que.
C. A escribir. Ahora, haz el borrador de tu composición con las ideas y la información que
recopilaste en las Actividades A y B. ¡OJO!
D. El borrador. Ahora, haz el borrador de tu composición con las ideas y la información que
recopilaste en A preparar.
E. A revisar. Repasa el borrador de tu composición para estar seguro/a de que has explorado
bien estos temas relacionados con la región donde vives.
