Phase 1 Selecting an Innovation
2
Model from Bob
A model attempts to provide a representation that can help us understand how things work. Some
attributes to consider for a model of innovation include:
Simplicity – Is the model easy to understand and use?
Descriptive – Is there sufficient detail to enable explanation, comparison, and/or imitation (use)?
Assessable – Does the model enable measurement and provide a vehicle for evaluating
alternatives?
Predictive – When model assumptions are true, does the model provide probabilities for
described outcomes?
Timely – Does the model provide assessments, measurements, and insights that enable
innovation opportunities in a timeframe that will lead to success?
The timeliness element for an innovation model can be particularly challenging. Innovation
requires decisions for change which are often resisted, particularly when changes may
cannibalize current business. A good model will provide the information, insight, and needed
motivation for internal change before external changes can disrupt the company.
Premature change can also be ineffective if environmental conditions are not ready to support the
change being promoted. An effective model will detect environmental readiness for change
adoption, enabling acceptable returns for innovation investments.
An idea for me is an APP to lock in the screen on our Android phone, I keep losing my widgets

An idea for me is a good soul food restaurant. We need a place that has a variety of food choices
that also has great customer service. I keep going to restaurants that don’t have good service and
have limited food. I feel like everyone would love to have be satisfied when spending money at
restaurants. The Lean start up model would be great to use. It will help to show us how to
increase our customers and to get our sales up. We will be able to identify the challenges such as
satisfying the customers, keeping the sales up and respecting all the employees. We will also be
able to handle situations that are very challenges. The model helps us make sure that all our
employees are following ethical standards. The model will also help show us how we can offer
training to the employees so that they are ready to satisfy the customer’s desire.

Hi Group,
I thought we were going to use Mykel idea of opening a new soul food restaurant which is the
innovation that I agree upon as well in our 1 st group chat. Robert, I like your innovation as well
on creating an app to lock the phone. So, my ideal was creating a new Pogo Stick that could be
used for all ages. The hard part is which one do we choose because we have so little time. Well
here is a little information on the pogo stick; the pogo stick is a device for jumping off the
ground in a standing position, through the aid of a spring, or new high-performance technologies,
often used as a toy, exercise equipment or extreme sports instrument. The description of the
model that I would like to use to talk about the pogo stick is Nommar. Nommar will help to pin
point important information for our customers to understand how our product and how it will be
very useful to them. This model will also help with identifying the age group this innovation is
created for. Sorry for the miscommunication on this assignment. Looks like I was reading the
instructions incorrectly. The good thing is we still have time to complete a great assignment 🙂

Sorry Purple Team, I guess I must have misread the directions. I have almost all of the essay. I
thought it was more independently working than collectively. Let me know if I need to do the
conclusion or any other parts. Here is my idea…
Here I would take the car manufacturing company and discuss about its innovation in the field of
mobility and technology. Major recent innovation include car connect providing broadband
internet access in cars. I use the model SNIFF in evaluating innovation.
STRATEGY
This innovation fit our business strategy of attracting more customers by providing a comfort
zone as provided by the luxurious cars with optimum utilization of organization resources. It will
also cater to our r vision of creating technology innovative cars
NEED
THIS TECHNOLOGY caters to the need of broadband Internet access which turns your car into
a mobile home from home enhancing driving comfort. IT satisfies the need of using GPS while
traveling to different places
IMPACT
This technology has a great impact on technology savvy customers, professional facing huge
traffic while going to work, as it helps them know the traffic conditions.360-degree panoramic
pictures of the destination and the ability to zoom the map down to 30 meters. It has saved their
late timings of reaching the office. thus, improving work environment.
FEASABILITY
This technology occurs less feasible in terms of providing the comfort zone of luxurious cars at
the cost lesser than those companies. Broadband connection could be provided at somewhat
lower speed sufficient for navigation rather than downloading files and other things. It is
expected to be completed within time frame by motivation team work among employees giving
them extra rewards for work done.

FEEL
Our educated gut feel says that such technology at lower cost will take the pleasure of motoring
to a whole new level.

Introduction
I would like to re- introduce a product that can be used for all ages above five years old.
The product is called the Pogo Stick Extreme and it can be used for exercise or just plain old fun.
The pogo stick extreme is a device that is used for jumping off the ground through the aid of a
spring and has been around for many years. It consists of a pole with a handle at the top and
footrests near the bottom. The spring joins two sections of the pole which extends below the
footpads (En.wikipedia.org, 2017). It also comes in many different styles and colors. The pogo
stick can be used by kids or adults depending on the style of their choice. The instruction will be
very simple, and you will be able to use the pogo stick extreme within the same day of purchase.
You can use it indoors or outdoors. It can be stored under a bed or in a small compartment within
the closet. Once you start using the pogo stick extreme you will not want to stop.
As we prepare for this product to launch we will have two commercials set up and
previewing on high demand channels throughout the nation. We will also use social media like
Face Book and YouTube to get the word out and to show tutorials on how to use pogo stick
extreme. Throughout the years pogo sticks has never stopped being made and sales have
remained relatively steady. When looking at the history, the original pogo stick company was
called “Flybar” and it has been around since 1918. The company has now moved on to be an allaround Sporting Goods Company. They continue to sell pogo sticks and other items such as the

Vurtego pogo stick. Moving forward, I will be using different websites for consumers to order
our product like Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Toys R Us. Today, the pogo stick extreme will start
gaining popularity again like it did back in the old days. Through updated invention we have
come to believe that pogo stick extreme will be here to stay and will be used more than ever.
Selected idea
The idea that our group decided to use was the Pogo stick. The Pogo stick is a great tool
that people could use during their free time. The pogo stick that we will be creating will be for all
ages of people. The model that will help to evaluate our idea of creating a Pogo stick is the
Nommar plan. The Nommar model will help to show our customers how our product will be a
good use in their everyday life. The model will help to pinpoint the details that people like to
know about when investing into a product. The model will also help show the appropriate age
that this product will fix. We may face challenges such as deciding the right age groups and
getting the product made so it meet each customer expectation. We can overcome the challenges
if we do the right researching and take our time with developing the product.
Phase 2
Each team member must research and describe a product development or management
process, methodology, or model that could be utilized to implement the innovation. Then the
group will vote and select a model and start then implementation of our plan as stated below and
in our timeline.

Finalize the name and include a one- or two-sentence description of the
innovation.

Describe the value the new product or service will provide to customers and
describe the need it will meet.
Tarnesha (1000 words)

Utilizing the model selected by the team, create the detailed implementation plan
for the innovation. Make sure the plan accounts for contingencies/risks in the
implementation process and includes realistic timeframe and budgeting
