Guidelines for the Presentation:
•
Students will work in groups of four and present the power point presentation on
CLO4 Revenue Recognition.
•
Time allocated for each group is 20 Minutes followed by questions asked by the
faculty to the group members. Total time allotted to each group is 30 minutes.
•
The assessment carries 10% weightage. Grades achieved by members of the
group will be accumulated in the assessment three case analysis.
•
Students are not allowed to use any additional notes except the power point
slides during the presentation
•
Students will present the task in the week 15 of the semester (26 – 30
November).
➢ Following points should be addressed by students to cover the
presentation requirements.
1. What is a Core Revenue Recognition Principle on which revenue can be
recognized by seller
2. Five Steps Used to Apply the Principle for single and multiple performance
obligations
3. Fundamental Issues relating to recognize revenues during the five steps process
4. How to Recognize revenue over a single point of time and over a period of time.
5. Determine the timing of revenue recognition with respect to licenses, franchises,
and other common arrangements.
Note: Students can use various scenarios and cases to address the above points. Real
examples locally/internationally can be used to demonstrate issues relating revenue
recognition.
