1. The private security industry has grown significantly, and there are some reasons for this. One
primary reason for the growth of this industry is the increasingly threatening environment in the
society. There are threats from both local and foreign sources such as burglars, carjackers as well
as terrorist elements. It has led to the need for more spending in the private security sector.
Another reason for the growth in the private security setting is the constant change in criminal
investigation exercises (Abrahamsen & Leander, 2015). It has led to the increase in preventative
measures thus leading to the setting up of more security firms. All these factors led to the
increasing need for private security. There is a growing need of private security services
especially with the rapidly growing economy. Private security firms are continually hired to
protect organizational goods and property and deal with criminal threats. These factors will lead
to even more growth in the private security business in coming years.
2. Prosegur Security Company is an international security firm, and it has realized much success
in recent years due to some reasons. The company has been able to provide comprehensive
security by combining professionalism with the latest technology. It continues to focus on
technological innovation which allows it to help improve customer experience. It also
continually comes up with updated security solutions which match the growing demand for
security (“Prosegur – Private Security Company, 2017). The Company also continues to embrace
challenges in the private security market and uses this as an opportunity for growth. If I were to
open up a private security company, I would use some points for my mission statement. One
would be “To provide quality security programs and qualified personnel to meet the unique

needs of the clients.” Another statement would be “To offer guard and investigative services,
loss prevention, emergency services as well as security for special events.”
3. Some factors have contributed to the success of G4S as a private security brand. One of these
factors is the globalization of private security which the company has been able to embrace
successfully. The company offers a range of products and services across over 90 counties, and
this has provided a strong understanding of security trends around the world (G4S 2016 Strategic
Report, 2016). Another factor contributing to the success of G4S is the understanding of client
needs and the ability to provide these requirements at an organizational level. The company has
also been able to focus on professionalizing private security especially with the proper training of
employees to ensure high-quality service delivery.G4S has even managed to continue investing
in technology to provide efficient meeting of security solutions to cater for growing needs of the
population. All these aspects have led to the success of the private security firm.
